Installation Hardware

Navaid provides a pushrod with the crank arm servo, or a bridle cable with the capstan servo.  A small amount of additional specialized hardware is provided for some of the more popular aircraft.

The pushrod is supplied with a rod-end bearing installed in

only one end.  The user cuts the aluminum tube to the appropriate length and installs the other rod end bearing.  The diameter of the hole in this rod end may be specified to be 1/8", 3/16" or 1/4" as needed.

The bridle cable, with cable clamps for linking the capstan servo to the aileron control cables, comes with an adjustment screw for unloading the cable tension onto the bridle cable.   The user specifies the diameter of the control cable which the clamp must fit.

The installation can sometimes be accomplished without having to alter the aircraft, in which case it should take less than a day.  Of course, it takes more time if one must cut or enlarge an access hole, or build a hard point for servo mounting.
